NEW RELEASE!

I am truly delighted to introduce my newest CD in 4 years "Appassionata".  It has been a truly wonderful experience in the recording and writing process and has been beautifully well received.  There are pieces that have surprised even me as they created themselves and began to emerge.

I have grown to love these melodies and in many ways think of them as my best work yet. They keep changing and growing as I play them for audiences and for that I am truly grateful.    Some that are turning out to be favorites are "The Mountain Sings", "Caravanserai" and "Birds of Barbados".  I hope you enjoy them as much as I have in creating them.

Hello and welcome to my first newsletter, a new undertaking in my artistic work.  I hope you may find these ideas interesting, enjoyable and if so, please pass them on!

I write music that brings me great peace, harmony and joy.  My desire is to share this music and inspire others to find a place of peace and joy in their lives. In many concerts and other performances the audience becomes the inspiration for me in spontaneously creating new music.  In teaching I strive to bring out the best and most natural abilities of people, many of whom become able to improvise and compose music of passion and individuality.

I enjoy using music and events as ways to benefit others, looking for ways for my music to have another dimension.  Thanks for your support and interest in my music.

All the best for the future - now on to the new!

  My Music used by NASA!
As I write to you after this year's Earth Day celebrations, I am heartened to see a great awakening happening on our planet, an awakening in consciousness that we are all a part of this one body - this miraculous planet earth.
My  music is now being used in amazing ways. I was approached by a friend from NASA to see if they could use my music for different animated intepretations of data that was collected.

This film (For best view click on MPEG-1 next to the first earth picture) is a beautiful rendering of a planet in change and has been instrumental in making me more aware of the single dimension of life here on our planet. It was selected for inclusion in the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theatre, the "Academy Awards" of computer graphics in 2005.   Quite a feat for a small group competing with the likes of Dreamworks etc!

Help Effect Change in your Neighborhood!

I want to introduce everyone to the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (www.chesapeakeclimate.org)   a Mid-Atlantic based group that works to raise awareness and help individuals and government work together to create a cleaner and more energy efficient planet for the future.

I encourage us all to take part wherever we are with organizations and community groups to help change the world for the better.  We can all make a difference!

Visit www.chesapeakeclimate.org to see what they are doing in your neighborhood.   As many scientists have said:  many people doing little things can create a big shift for the betterment of the planet.  We are all important.

The Family Crisis Center
The Family Crisis Center provides sanctuary and assists women and children faced with domestic violence and abuse. Last year's concert was great fun and produced so many new compositions by my students and myself that immediately everyone wanted to do it again. CDs and DVDs of the concert are still available. Visit www.familycrisiscenter.net to find out more about this oasis of hope. With a renovation underway on their facility, now more then ever, they can use help.

  Thank You!

I hope you enjoy my newest CD "Appassionata"  and have found the video and information inside helpful and interesting.

Cheers,

Robert
